Stem Cells and Society
Technology has allowed our society to begin stem cell research. Using stem cell research the possibilities to cure disease are endless. However, many people are split on the issue of whether to support stem cell research or to be opposed to it. As I view this issue, I see that yes we may be playing God but we will be improving the quality of life for countless people who ultimately suffer greatly for a given disease. The conservative viewpoint does not support it because it challenges God as our creator. Our society views the same issue entirely differently based on ideology and values. Religion makes this a very debatable topic and one that will continue to press our forums of debate.
